I feel like my queer life experience has lead me to write this song. Sometimes I sing it to men, sometimes I sing it to old fashioned people who think being machismo is a requirement for men, all in all it’s a fuck you to toxic masculinity & the fake strength men are led to believe they possess just for taking on an outdated persona.
I also wanted to keep it uplifting, singing ‘get together’ ‘do it together’ because I do think change is possible!
