about
I'm not sure when I wrote this, but, I know that the music came first. I just came up with the little riff that you hear on the piano, and then kind of built a song around that.
The lyrics are snapshots of different parts of my life that i remember.
It's possibly too difficult to explain, so, i won't. and i hope nobody minds awfully much.
I spent a lot of time making the music dramatic enough to match the lyrics, this is probably my favourite to make so far.
lyrics
V1
On the edge of a conversation, looking for what i've found: a returnable glance.
your words left to drown in mine, shades of a similar thought once shared between us.
Chorus
A take on the 4 main lines: a guilt complex lies in the dark pulling you down
a spark in the right direction, follow it's light, don't put it out, follow til it fades,
then wait, still, wait.
V2
It's hard to hear, thickness of the air, but everything bears life - see here: right where you are.
poetry made from the edge of two conversations perfectly aligned parallel lines
intersecting frame of mind.
Chorus
A take on the 4 main lines: a guilt complex lies in the dark pulling you down
a spark in the right direction, follow it's light, don't put it out, follow til it fades,
then wait, still, wait.
Bridge
But I Just Can't See this cooling off, or you holding on.
show me the future, should i just let it slip away silent in to the night?
Chorus
A take on the 4 main lines: a guilty conscience lies in the dark pulling you down
a spark in the right direction, follow it's light, don't put it out, follow til it fades,
then wait, still, wait.
